There’s a reason why Cascata golf course is consistently ranked in the top 5 golf courses in Nevada. Tiger Woods played here all the time when he was taking lessons from Butch Harmon. It’s located in Boulder City, a 30-minute drive from the Las Vegas strip. These are my 7 favorite things about golfing at Cascata…this will also help you prepare for your round at Cascata.
7. Valet and Club Check
Absolutely take advantage of the valet service at Cascata. It’s 100% free. No more parking and walking a quarter-mile to the clubhouse, like most courses. I love a hassle free check-in process, and Cascata nails it.
6. Tour-Class Caddies
There is one caddy per group of 4 golfers. You’ll pay your caddy $50 per person, plus tips. I was told a typical tip was $25-50. So plan on $100 all-in per person for your caddy. It’s worth it… the caddies are fun to hang out with, they’ll assist you with yardages and shot placements, and they’ll keep your organized. Playing with a caddy made me feel good…I played better and enjoyed learning more about course management.
5. The Clubhouse
You’ll see a waterfall when you walk inside the clubhouse. The locker rooms are epic. You’ll love it.
4. Stunning Practice Area
Cascata has the most beautiful practice area I’ve seen. Don’t take my word for it. Here’s a pic.
3. Course Design
“Deep canyon walls frame each hole much like the sand dunes of Scotland; ancient streambeds have been brought to life. Natural rock outcroppings and manmade water features make cascata as much an oasis as nearby Las Vegas.”-Rees Jones, Cascata Course Architect
BONUS: The greens were rolling at an 11 on the stimpmeter when I played there last. Translation: they’re fast!
2. Cart Girls
My pet peeve is playing golf on a hot day and having no cart service or only seeing the cart girl once the entire day. At Cascata, you’ll see a cart girl around 6-7 times during your round. Perfect!
1. The Experience
I recommend everyone play Cascata with their friends. It’s a memory you’ll never forget. The entire experience from start to finish is legendary.
